Another day goes by in the training support world--another day of proposed dramatic changes to the whole organization.  Whether or not they will come to fruition remains to be seen.  All I can hope for is that something is done before I leave to make the organization better.  I'm definitely not holding my breath waiting on it, but I would still like something to be done about it.
We just had a meeting today.  It was supposed to be for the OIC's, however Kelly asked me to attend with her, so I came and sat through the whole meeting--bored I might add.  I don't think a lot was really accomplished in the meeting, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't.  I guess I'll have to wait to see what outcomes arise from it.
I need to start working on a book or something, need to get my ideas on paper and try to get them published so I can do something other than this whole navy thing.  I'm really getting burned out and depressed with what is going on in the training world and in the Navy overall.  The Navy really has no dog in the fight for the war on terrorism or the war in Afghanistan.  That makes us a force that has no real job.  That's not a bad thing, because when you need the navy, it will still be there.  My fear is that we'll do as we've done in the past and dismantle the navy, only to have to struggle really hard to put it back together should the situation arise that we need it again.  Unlike the past, Americans are very wishy-washy now and have a hard time making up their minds, and want everything instantaneously.  They couldn't wait for the navy to be rebuilt, so they would write it off in support of some other venture, probably the air force since they are so much better at selling things.
Nonetheless, I'm trying to get Kelly to see if she's ready for lunch.  Hopefully!  Anyway...More later.
