Don't Throw Up!

That's what I kept telling myself the other night. I felt like total a**! I went sailing on saturday with Mike in the Tri-Service Regatta and ended up coming home with a fever and feeling downright miserable. I couldn't get warm. I had the fireplace going, was bundled up in a jacket and was still shivering. Lauren came over and we were all watching "Cold Mountain" and cold is what I was. I liked the movie, for the most part, it just sucked at the ending. The man survived the civil war, being a deserter, being shot, and lots of other things only to get killed in the end of the movie. What a crock! I know that all movies aren't supposed to have happy endings, but COME ON!

Last week was an interesting week. I got my end of tour award on Friday, it was a Navy Comm. We went to Blackwater for a routine visit on Thursday, Kim and Heather had fun playing in the scenarios. I took pictures and observed. We are supposed to go back again this Thursday where I plan to play in the scenario.

I have to write a brief for the Captain on Metrics. Being the dummy that I am, after making recommendations as to who should attend the training, I told her that I would be more than happy to brief her and the XO--and she took me up on it. Now I'm putting together the brief, well, attempting to put together the brief. I'm not having much luck at it, my brain just doesn't want to kick into gear. I think it is leftovers from being sick this weekend. I ran a fever all weekend and pretty much felt terrible. I am still fatigued, my muscles ache and I haven't been able to eat much. That's why I keep having trouble putting the brief together, I can't get my brain engaged. I still have to read my readings for class tomorrow night, and let us not forget that we are getting our exam this week, the infamous Grand Strategy exam that we have 36 hours to finish--talking about a kick in the nuts! Nevertheless, we trudge on like good little christian soldiers. Did I say Christian? Strike that, good little soldiers. Wouldn't want to be accused of violating separation of church and state ;)

Not too much else is going on. I'm just trudging along, hoping for all of this stuff to end--ready for a break, though I'm not going to get one. At this rate, I'm probably going to get sick again..UGH!

So on we worked and waited for the light
and went without the meat and cursed the bread....

You finish it ;)
